American Jewelry and Loan is joining the fight to get clean water to Flint, Michigan by running a bottled water drive right out of our Detroit location. From now through January 26th (extended–check our Facebook page for deliver dates), every bottle of water that individuals and families drop off at our store will be matched bottle-for-bottle and delivered to the citizens of Flint. Donors will receive a free refillable water bottle.
If you’ve missed it … the city’s in big trouble after drawing its water supply from the highly corrosive Flint River. The filthy water combined with old lead pipes have cut off residents from fresh water. According to TMZ, other celebrities are similarly using their visibility to pitch in and raise awareness.
