Happy Mother’s Day!

By May 4, 2015Featured, News

Whenever people ask me about how I started in pawnbroking, I share the story of being a kid who got caught up in the negative stereotypes of pawnbrokers. I went to University of Michigan with the intention to become a doctor.

In my senior year, however, I realized that the passion for medicine just wasn’t there. So I called my mom.

I’ll never forget her response when I said that I wanted to go into the business. “What business?”

“The family business,” I said “I want to be a pawnbroker.”

The rest is history, of course, but I count myself lucky to have a mom who’s always been supportive of me and my ambitions. Being a mother is a tough job, so be sure that you’re good the the special moms in YOUR life on Mother’s Day and every day.
